I'm wanting to get started in the tabletop game warhammer 40k, but I'm not sure about something. I want to get the 25$ ABR paint set, but I need to know if it contains primer. I would think they have some kind of primer paint, maybe the black paint, but I am unsure. Anyone who has bought this might be able to explain?Does the warhammer 40k assault on black reach paint set contain primer?
You can prime the miniatures from the AoBR boxed set by hand with either white or black, according to your preference. Citadel's Skull White and Chaos Black are both fine for hand priming.
However, the paint set does NOT include the popular spray primer, available in both Skull White and Chaos Black from Games Workshop. For the smoothest, most paintable surface you are strongly advised to invest in the spray primer - although getting some tips on how to use it safely and neatly from the GW staff may be a good idea if you're new to spray paint.Does the warhammer 40k assault on black reach paint set contain primer?
';This box set contains five plastic Space Marines with moulded Ultramarine and Tactical markings on their shoulder pads, and six 4ml pots of paint, including: Black, White, Mechrite Red, Gunmetal, Iyanden Yellow and Mordian Blue. This set also includes a starter paint brush.';
Games workshop DOES have an undercoat paint, which is sold seperatly in a spray can, in either white or black. You can also brush on white or balck as a primer (and i think there was a dedicted white brush on at some point), but the only proper primer is the spray primers.
If you need cheap primer buy a can of automotive primer like Hycote; you can find it in budget/discount stores. Citadel primer is better but if you spray lightly - as lightly as you can - Hycote will do the job.
