Is it ok to wait lets say two days between priming a wall and painting? I thought i would have a project i started last nite finished today but it looks like we wont finish priming until tonight. We will start painting tomorrow. I read primer cures and then you cant paint on top of it b/c it becomes like glass? Is that true and how long does it usually take? The Kilz website said 14 days but im just making sure. The walls are a navy blue and we are using Kilz Primer to prime and then will paint with Behr Pecan Glaze.Waiting a few days between Primer and Paint?
I've waited as long as a week. Most primers have instructions. But I believe it's OK to go 2 days or more...Waiting a few days between Primer and Paint?
You will be okay waiting a couple of weeks no problem..However..behr paint is way over rated, and they will not honor thier warranty..I am a painter of 37 years and got ahold of one batch of bad paint with behr that would not adhere($4000.00 worth) to do 4 duplexes(8 Apartments) all new , used behr primer, and a behr finish..I contacted them for weeks on end, e mailed them, and they would never come to answer or honor thier warranty...They do not honor the labor as any paint company don't, but a ';bad batch';is not that common, but it does happen...I just refuse to do buisness with someonethat won't uphold thier end of the bargain!!! Go to Sherwin Williams..
yes you can, primer only takes a hour or so to dry before painting, and it doesn't matter if you wait a week or so,if you want to have a real smooth finish sand the walls before priming
go ahead it will be fine
You can paint anytime you are ready. You just don't want to paint too quickly over the primer but you are well past that stage. Good luck.
its ok to wait, paint will be hard to remove, primer is something to cover a wall, if u dont want that paint color.
you can wait to pant up to 14 days
Makers of a product usually have tested under various conditions, and following their recommendations gives best results. The type of finish you git is in the finish paint, gloss, flat,so on.....George
