Can you paint items in the engine bay with primer and regular spary paint?

im looking of painting a few items for detail in my engine compartment one or two coats of primer and the same for some candy apple red....will it be safe? Can you paint items in the engine bay with primer and regular spary paint?
The only areas of concern are the exhaust manifolds and exhaust pipes - any attempt to paint them using anything other than extreme high temperature paint will result in immediate peeling of the paint if the paint does not simply burst into flames! Can you paint items in the engine bay with primer and regular spary paint?
It is fine.

You can use regular spray paint on items in the engine bay that doesn't get to much heat.

You must use High Tem/ High heat paint to paint items that get really hot such as Headers, Intake manifold, Valve cover, etc.

You can use regular can primer and spray paint to paint brackets, clamps and anything that isn't directly on the engine itself.
just make sure it is a high heat paint so it does not flak off
