What's the colour of an aluminum mtb when it's fully sanded? No paint or primer sprayed after the sanding?

Bare cast aluminum color -- off silver.

Caution. You can not leave sanded aluminum alone without some protective coating. Every time you touch it, your finger prints will be visible. Aluminum oxide will then begin to form on the surface and the entire thing will dull down and look splotchy and, well, like crap. If you are taking the time to sand the bike at least clear coat it. Use emory cloth to sand with and clear coats are available in gloss. mat, and flat sheen's.What's the colour of an aluminum mtb when it's fully sanded? No paint or primer sprayed after the sanding?
Raw or ball burnished aluminum is greyish silver but can be polished to a high luster.

As mentioned before, not only will unfinished aluminum turn black eventually it will also leave residue on everything it touches. Yuck!
