Will oil paint stick to latex primer?

We are painting some cabinets and have put down latex primer. We will be painting with oil based paint. Will the oil based paint stick to the latex primer? Thanks. Will oil paint stick to latex primer?
Yes it will stick. You obviously bought special primer for this job. Eg. Bulleye 1.2.3 from a paint store....

If you did, you have no worries what so ever, and paint will not slide off in sheets, in all my years (15) as a paint consultant, I have never heard of that.

But, if you used the wrong kind, like drywall sealer/primer...uh oh. There is work to be done to correct this. Sand, reprime with Bullseye 1.2.3 and paint 2 coats. Will oil paint stick to latex primer?
No absolutley not! You can paint latex over oil but not oil over latex. It will never work no matter what primer you have bought or what anyone else says. You will waste a lot of time and end up with a big mess because the oil won't dry on the latex. It will slide off of it or peel off. You risk the chance of it staining your floor or carpet. Oil stains are hard to get out of anything. I hope you did not buy the paint, if you did try to return it. Oil paint is far inferior to latex. That was not true 10-20 years ago but times and product changes. The only thing you want to use oil for is as a primer to hide stains or in a deck application maybe. Sorry. Oh and I have worked with paint for a very long time and I've seen oil fail. I'm not just a consultant.
No, I' m sorry to say. However, I am curious as to why you want to use an acrylic paint instead of latex? Oil paints smell horrible, takes days to dry, and have a messy clean up. Latex now is just as durable, fast drying, and you have soap and water clean up. Plus you won't need the Advil to get rid of your headache. Acrylic is nasty. Even painting outside with oil based paint smells awful. For cabinets you may want to use a semi-gloss so that it can be wiped clean easily. Good luck.
It will for a while, but will peel off in sheets eventually. remember oil and water don't mix and the pigment and titanium in it won't make it last any longer.
