I need to paint my door frame. I need to use a paint primer before I use the real paint. Can I use a primer that is really for wallpaper or do I need to get a paint primer.

The wallpaper primer is for making sure the paper sticks and also easilly removed. Use a primer for paint. Benjamin Moore sells Fresh start. All purpose interior exterior latex conversion primer. Can I use Shieldz wallcovering primer as a substitute for a paint primer?
Good question. I don't know for sure, though if it's an external door probably not. If you ring Zinssers technical information hot line on the back of the tin, I'm sure they could advise you. Zinsser primers are the best in my opinion.
