Regardless of the fact that you can buy appliance paint, consider that it's not going to be as durable as when the appliance was manufactured. Appliances are painted at the factory by powdercoating and baking the finish on. That's why the original paint is so thick and durable. I would be concernd that, after the job is done, it won't look quite right. Kind of like if someone painted a car with a can of Krylon.
