Is there a special type of primer or paint to paint over Veneer?

Hi, I want to buy these office desks that are Veneer.


But I want to paint them.


Is there any special primer I can use? Or special kind of paint?


I have seen it done before on Kitchen Cabinets so I am wondering how that is done.


Any advice would be helpful.

First clean them, then prime them with BIN 1-2-3. then sand them lightly, wipe off the dust and paint whatever color you like.Is there a special type of primer or paint to paint over Veneer?
Veneer will lift if you get it wet, so don't use a water-based paint or primer. Oil-based products are best, but you don't want to degrade the adhesive used to glue the veneer to the base wood. I would ask at the paint store.
